The Houston Astros have announced that starting January 1, their stadium will be renamed Daikin Park, following a new agreement that extends through the 2039 season.

Originally opened in 2000 as Enron Field, the name was changed to Astros Field shortly after Enron Corporation’s bankruptcy in March 2002. Later that same year, the venue was officially renamed Minute Maid Park under a deal worth over $100 million that was meant to last 28 years. Minute Maid, a subsidiary of Coca-Cola, will continue to be an Astros partner until 2029.

The new naming rights deal with Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, a branch of Japan’s Daikin Industries Ltd., marks a significant shift for the ballpark, which has undergone several name changes over the years. Daikin is recognized as a leader in the air conditioning industry.

This change signals a new chapter for the venue, as the Astros aim to enhance their brand association while continuing to honor the longstanding partnership with Minute Maid.
