Assemblies of God High School’s under-19 rugby league team displayed an impressive talent by securing a commanding 32-6 victory over Saint Vincent College. With a lineup primarily consisting of players aged 16 and 17, this youthful squad showcased remarkable skill and teamwork throughout the match, underlining their potential for future success.
Technical manager Taitusi Saudole expressed pride in the team’s dedication and overall performance, emphasizing their developmental focus. “We are very happy with the boys’ effort and teamwork today,” stated Saudole, who noted the significant determination the young players exhibited on the field.
As they look ahead to the 2026 Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League competition, Saudole acknowledged the necessity for improvement in various areas. He pointed out the importance of enhancing physical strength and conditioning, given the squad’s age. “We also need to work on technical aspects such as breakdowns, scrums, and quicker responses during penalties,” he further explained.
Assemblies of God High School aims to build on last year’s performance, where they reached the elimination round. “Our goal this year is to progress beyond elimination and make a deeper run in the competition,” Saudole declared, highlighting the team’s ambitious targets.
