Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to enhance the gaming experience significantly with the introduction of new quests and improvements to its parkour mechanics. This update, scheduled for release on May 27th, includes exciting additions that aim to elevate the gameplay to the heights seen in the renowned Assassin’s Creed Unity.
A brand new quest, which is a collaboration with the popular game Dead by Daylight, invites players to investigate mysterious disappearances in the village of Harima. This quest, initiated by the character Naoe, brings “unique mechanics” and becomes available once players unlock Yasuke as a playable character.
In addition to this new quest, players will also find the pre-order quest titled “Thrown to the Dogs,” which involves a revenge plot surrounding a dog. This quest can be accessed after completing “From Spark to Flame” at the Tennoji Temple near Osaka.
The parkour improvements are particularly noteworthy. Shadows is introducing a vertical jump move that allows both Yasuke and Naoe to leap directly to ledges, awnings, or overhangs without needing to run up a wall first. This change promises to enhance the fluidity of navigation throughout the game’s environments. Furthermore, the update includes better side and back ejects, enabling characters to gain greater height and distance when jumping away from walls, as well as introducing new animations for Naoe.
To complement the gameplay enhancements, the update will also feature upgrades to the photo mode, providing players with new options for capturing their in-game adventures.
Overall, this upcoming update suggests a positive trajectory for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, bringing new life and excitement to the game’s exploration mechanics and storytelling. Players can look forward to these changes that enhance both the gameplay and narrative experience.
