Ashby to Start as Brewers Seek NLCS Momentum Against Dodgers

The Milwaukee Brewers are set to turn to left-hander Aaron Ashby once again as they aim to regain momentum in the National League Championship Series (NLCS) against the Los Angeles Dodgers. This will mark Ashby’s third postseason start as an opener, coming at a critical time for the Brewers, who find themselves trailing 2-0 in the series.

Ashby has been a pivotal player for the Brewers this postseason, having appeared in all but one of their eight playoff games—missing only Game 3 of the NL Division Series against the Chicago Cubs. Throughout his postseason appearances, he has maintained a 4.26 earned run average, although he has allowed an earned run in just one of his five outings. However, his command has been a concern, evidenced by five walks over 6⅔ innings of work.

Ashby will face off against the Dodgers’ right-hander Tyler Glasnow, a seasoned and well-compensated pitcher. Glasnow had a successful regular season, posting a 3.19 ERA across 18 starts. In the playoffs, he marked his presence with a dominating performance during Game 4 of the NL Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies, where he pitched six shutout innings, struck out eight batters, and allowed only two hits.

As the Brewers prepare for this crucial Game 3, the stakes are higher than ever, and Ashby will be looking to deliver a strong performance to help his team turn the tide in the series. With the right approach and execution, there remains hope for a Brewers comeback in the NLCS.
