ASAP Rocky, the acclaimed hip-hop artist, was acquitted of charges related to a shooting incident involving former collaborator Terell Ephron, also known as ASAP Relli. The jury reached a verdict after nearly three hours of deliberation on Tuesday, allowing the 36-year-old rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, to reclaim his freedom and continue his career.

The case stemmed from an altercation that occurred in 2021 near a Hollywood hotel, where Rocky was accused of two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon. The trial focused on the nature of the firearm involved; while prosecutors alleged it was a semiautomatic gun, defense witnesses argued it was a prop gun used in the filming of a music video. Notably, no physical gun was presented in court, and Rocky did not testify.

Following the verdict, an emotional Rocky embraced family members, including Rihanna, who is not only a music star but also a business mogul and the mother of his two young sons. Expressing gratitude to the jury, he said, “Thank y’all for saving my life.”

The outcome of the trial marks a significant victory for the artist, who faced the possibility of a lengthy prison sentence of up to 24 years if convicted. This not only clears his name but allows him to focus on his career and family moving forward.

In light of this verdict, fans and supporters remain hopeful for Rocky’s future endeavors in music and beyond, wishing him continued success and personal happiness after a tumultuous period.
