AS PTT Domination Sparks OFC Futsal Shock as Gulf Komara Falls

GULF Komara’s campaign in the OFC Men’s Futsal Champions League came to a disappointing end as they faced a heavy defeat against Noumea’s AS PTT. The match concluded with an overwhelming score of 8-1, reflecting the dominant performance from AS PTT.

AS PTT’s success was highlighted by a series of impressive plays, starting with a beautifully executed corner kick by Michel Pimbe, which was capped off by Uge Genegeie’s striking goal that opened the scoring. The team’s momentum continued with Christ Pei adding a second goal after a swift series of passes, followed by Joel Djamoet who netted the third. Emmanuel Hmaen rounded off a strong first half by pushing the score to 4-0 before halftime.

Despite the valiant efforts of Gulf Komara’s goalkeeper, Laventine Monou, the team struggled to fend off AS PTT’s relentless offensive. The second half offered little solace for Gulf Komara, as AS PTT continued to find the back of the net, adding four more goals to their tally.

A late consolation goal from Gulf Komara in the final minute brought the score to 8-1, yet it was not enough to change the outcome of the match. The result leaves AS PTT awaiting the outcome of the upcoming Mataks FC versus Southern Legions FC match, which will determine their final standing in the tournament. A draw in that fixture would be favorable for AS PTT, potentially securing their position among the top teams in the league.

Though Gulf Komara faced a challenging match, the experience gained in this tournament could serve them well in future competitions. As the teams regroup and assess their performances, there remains hope for growth and improvement moving forward.
