Army Dominates AAC Championship: A Historic Victory Unleashed!

West Point, N.Y. – In an impressive showcase at the American Athletic Conference championship game, No. 24 Army capped off a flawless first season in the league by defeating Tulane 35-14 on Friday night. Bryson Daily led the charge, tying the record for most touchdowns in an AAC championship game with four, while also earning the title of Mike Aresco Most Outstanding Player.

Daily’s remarkable performance included 126 yards rushing, contributing to his AAC-leading total of 29 touchdowns for the season, which breaks the previous record of 25 held by Navy’s Will Worth since 2016. Alongside him, Kanye Udoh made a significant impact with 158 rushing yards, including a notable 72-yard run that set up one of Daily’s touchdowns.

The Black Knights (11-1) showcased a formidable rushing attack throughout the season, and they executed their game plan flawlessly during the championship, underscoring their new conference identity after years of competing independently. Daily’s touchdown runs came in increments of 5, 3, 4, and 7 yards, demonstrating his power and agility as both a quarterback and a runner.

This victory marks a historic moment for Army, as it is the first conference title in the program’s 134 years. Coach Jeff Monken emphasized the importance of joining a conference to secure a path to college football’s expanded postseason, and so far, that decision has proven fruitful for the team.

On the other hand, Tulane (9-4) struggled to find their rhythm, suffering from missed field goals and turnovers, including an interception and a fumbled kickoff that hindered their chances in the game. After appearing in their third consecutive AAC title game, the Green Wave were unable to secure a victory, missing out on an opportunity to host following a tough loss to Memphis weeks earlier.

This championship win not only celebrates Army’s successful inaugural season in the AAC, but also sets an optimistic tone for their future within the conference. Fans and players alike can look forward to seeing how Army builds on this success in the coming seasons, further establishing their legacy in college football.
