FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas football has welcomed Antwann “AJ” Hill to its quarterback roster following his commitment on Monday.

Hill, standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 215 pounds, played two games this past season for Memphis under coach Ryan Silverfield, completing 19 of 32 passes for 223 yards, including one touchdown and one interception. The opportunity to reunite with Silverfield and the coaching staff, which also includes former Memphis offensive coordinator Tim Cramsey, was a significant draw for Hill.

“Just the coaching staff, knowing the playbook already, and just the city,” Hill stated. “The fan base, SEC platform, really just being able to be known every week.”

Ranked as the No. 26 quarterback in the NCAA transfer portal by On3, Hill brings with him four years of eligibility. He was originally part of the Tigers’ 2025 signing class and is known as the highest-rated prospect to have signed with Memphis. In high school, he was recognized as ESPN’s No. 7 pocket passer and ranked as the No. 95 overall recruit during his senior year at Houston County in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Hill is the ninth transfer to join Arkansas this season, and notably, he is the third player from Memphis to do so. He will accompany returning quarterback KJ Jackson as the only scholarship quarterbacks on the 2026 roster, following the departures of Grayson Wilson and Trever Jackson, who have entered the transfer portal.

This addition reflects Arkansas’s commitment to strengthening its team through the transfer portal and showcases the program’s ability to attract top talent, boosting hopes for a competitive future in the SEC.
