Embark Studios has unveiled the 1.6.0 patch for ARC Raiders, marking a relatively minor update compared to its predecessors. This update primarily targets gameplay issues that players have experienced on the Stella Montis map, particularly concerning boundary limitations and collision problems that have led to frustrating gameplay moments where players could inadvertently fall through the environment or be shot through walls.

The patch includes the following key changes:

– A zipline that enabled players to escape the boundaries on Stella Montis has been removed.
– Collision fixes addressing issues that allowed players to vault and fall through walls in Blue Gate.
– Resolved material problems that permitted certain objects to either fail to block bullets or ARC vision.
– Addressed a gap in the Spaceport Launch Tower’s collision which allowed players to be shot from behind the wall.

In addition to this patch, Embark Studios has announced a shift in its patch release schedule, moving the regular updates and store rotations to Tuesdays instead of Thursdays. The upcoming Cold Snap update will be the first to follow this new timetable, set to launch next week. The studio also mentioned that it will slow down operations during the Christmas and New Year period, focusing only on critical issues during this time, with routine updates slated to resume in January.

ARC Raiders has quickly gained attention as a leading extraction shooter, and a recent review highlighted both its strengths and areas needing improvement. The reviewer noted the strong core gameplay and community feel reminiscent of the early days of Destiny, while also calling attention to the need for enhancements in inventory management and in-game events to enrich player experience.

This latest update indicates Embark Studios’ commitment to refining ARC Raiders, ensuring a better gameplay experience for its community as they continue to develop and expand the game.
