“Shrinking” has been officially renewed for a third season on Apple TV+.
The series, which was co-created by Jason Segel, Bill Lawrence, and Brett Goldstein, centers around grieving therapist Jimmy, portrayed by Segel. He begins to disregard professional boundaries, candidly expressing his thoughts to his clients, resulting in significant transformations in their lives—and in his own.
Alongside Segel, the cast includes Harrison Ford as Paul, marking one of his earliest roles in television, as well as Christa Miller (Liz), Jessica Williams (Gaby), Luke Tennie (Sean), Michael Urie (Brian), Lukita Maxwell (Alice), and Ted McGinley (Derek). Goldstein also guest stars in the second season.
The renewal announcement took place on Thursday at New York Comic Con, where creators Segel and Goldstein, along with several cast members, participated in a panel discussion about Season 2. The first two episodes of this new season are now available for streaming on Apple TV+, with additional episodes releasing every Wednesday.

Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, noted the joy in seeing audiences connect with the show’s memorable characters and rich narrative. He said, “We are incredibly excited for viewers to see where life takes Jimmy, Paul, Liz, Gabby, Alice, Sean, Brian, and Derek next as they continue on their moving, heartwarming and very funny journey in Season 3.”
“Shrinking” is produced for Apple TV+ by Warner Bros. Television, with Lawrence and Goldstein working under overall deals, and Lawrence’s company, Doozer Productions, also involved. Executive producers for Season 2 include Lawrence, Segel, Goldstein, and others. For the third season, Ashley Nicole Black and Bill Posley will join as executive producers.
This marks the third collaboration between Apple, Lawrence, and Warner Bros. Television, following successful projects like “Ted Lasso” and “Bad Monkey.” Additionally, “Shrinking” represents the second joint effort between Apple TV+ and Segel after his role in the 2022 film “The Sky Is Everywhere.”
