On Monday, Apple will launch iOS 18, its newest mobile operating system that serves a majority of the iPhone lineup, offering numerous enhancements to user experience and graphical interface for millions of compatible devices.
In conjunction, Apple will also unveil iPadOS 18, which will provide similar upgrades for the iPad range.
iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 will be accessible for download starting at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, allowing users in the Mid-Atlantic region to begin their downloads at 1 p.m.
Not all iPhones and iPads will be eligible for the upgrades. According to Apple, the following iPads can be updated to iPadOS 18:
– iPad Pro (M4)
– iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later)
– iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later)
– iPad Air (M2)
– iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
– iPad (7th generation and later)
– iPad mini (5th generation and later)
For iPhones, only models starting with the second-generation iPhone SE will support iOS 18, including earlier versions like the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max.
iOS 18 will introduce numerous upgrades. According to Apple’s information, users can expect new writing tools, improved photo and video capabilities, and enhancements to applications such as Mail, Messages, and Notes.
