The ANZ Group has announced the appointment of Swastika Devi as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its Pacific operations, succeeding Ravendran Achari, who has moved to the role of CFO for ANZ in Papua New Guinea. With over two decades of experience in finance and leadership, Ms. Devi is poised to tackle the challenges of her new position.
Previously, she served as the financial controller for ANZ Pacific, overseeing operations across 11 countries. Her extensive skill set encompasses commercial operations, management accounting, statutory reporting, planning and analysis, as well as regulatory engagement, making her a strong fit for the role.
Amanda Owen, CFO of ANZ for New Zealand, commended Ms. Devi’s considerable experience and her deep understanding of the Pacific region, describing her as the ideal candidate for the role. Meanwhile, Sarah Stubbings, the regional executive for Pacific, emphasized that Ms. Devi’s appointment highlights the wealth of talent within the bank’s Pacific team. Stubbings mentioned that Ms. Devi’s leadership and value-driven principles will be critical as ANZ continues to support local communities while promoting financial resilience and sustainable growth in the region.
In her new role, Ms. Devi will work towards improving the financial performance of ANZ’s Pacific operations, refining regulatory reporting and controls, and driving the region’s transition towards digital banking solutions.
Ms. Devi is a graduate of the University of the South Pacific and became a CPA Australia member in 2008. She actively leads the CPA Australia Fiji Representee Committee and has previously chaired the Fiji Institute of Bankers, contributing to various committees within the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants to support financial governance and professional development in the field.
