Nine months after the passing of her iconic father, Anouchka Delon has chosen to speak out in Gala, available in stores this Thursday, May 22. In her first public statement, she addressed the strained relationships with her brothers, Anthony and Alain-Fabien, openly discussing the painful rift that has kept them apart.

For Anouchka Delon, the year 2024 has been marked by grief and loss, compounded by the severed ties with her siblings. While attending the Cannes Film Festival for the opening of the “Delon & Elles” exhibition, which pays tribute to her father’s notable film “The Leopard,” she shared her heartfelt emotions with Gala. The actress and daughter of the legendary Alain Delon expressed the depth of her loss, stating, “I feel like I’ve lost my family and not just my father. What happened last year is a double mourning for me.”

She confirmed the ongoing estrangement from her brothers, who have publicly accused her of exploiting their father’s vulnerability during his final days. Speaking candidly about the emotional turmoil she has faced, Anouchka said, “It has been violent. Ultimately, a year and a half after the public accusations from Alain-Fabien and Anthony, I tell myself, ‘Well, we survive.’ I’m in the process of rebuilding and healing.”

Anouchka elaborated on why she chose to remain silent for 18 months after those accusations, explaining, “I needed to retreat because it was too painful. I had to confront my suffering instead of fleeing from it.” The trial related to these accusations, initially scheduled for last April, has now been postponed to March 2026.

Remaining close to her father until his last moments, Anouchka cherishes their unique bond, reflecting on the immense absence in her life. “We were very close, we wrote to each other, called multiple times a day, sent texts and photos. It’s in the small daily gestures and habits that you feel the void… It’s complicated when they are no longer there,” she shared, showing her vulnerability and strength as she navigates her grief.

This article is featured in Gala Issue No. 1667, available for purchase on Thursday, May 22.

Anouchka’s willingness to share her story not only provides insight into her personal struggles but also exemplifies the complex dynamics often present in family relationships during times of loss. Her journey of healing and remembrance illustrates the importance of connection and the resilience of the human spirit even in the face of profound sorrow.
