After recently appearing in a guest role on the series “Elsbeth,” Anna Camp took a break from filming to attend the world premiere of “Scream 7” in Los Angeles. During the red carpet event on Wednesday, Camp expressed her excitement about working with Carrie Preston, a fellow actress from their days on HBO’s “True Blood,” where their paths never crossed despite both being part of the show.
“I flew in last night and I’m getting on a plane at 1am after this party to go back to Elsbeth,” Camp shared. “It’s so great. Carrie Preston and I did True Blood together, but we never had any scenes together. When we saw each other, we started squealing. We were so happy.”
In “True Blood,” Preston portrayed Arlene Bellefleur, while Camp played the villain Sarah Newlin across several seasons. Camp will take on the role of Juliet Woodbent in an upcoming episode of “Elsbeth,” describing her character as an influencer mom living in Brooklyn with a large family. “I’m a perfectionist. I make everything by scratch. I’m one of those women that you want to throttle because they do everything by hand. So, it’s really, really fun,” she remarked.
Camp is also featured in “Scream 7,” which hits theaters this Friday. In this latest installment, her character Jessica Bowden is the neighbor and close friend of Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell. Jessica’s son Lucas is a true-crime enthusiast obsessed with the original Woodsboro murders, adding another layer to the chilling narrative.
Reflecting on her time in the industry, Camp indicated her willingness to take on musical projects in the future, especially if they possess a unique or offbeat flair. “I would if it was the right one. I like things a little offbeat, a little weird, a little wacky, a little strange,” she stated, hinting at her passions and interests beyond her current roles.
As Camp navigates this busy period of her career, the combination of her new projects and nostalgia from past experiences creates a promising outlook for her future endeavors in the entertainment world.
