On November 1, the director Anees Bazmee celebrated both his birthday and the one-year anniversary of “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.” In an exclusive interview, Bazmee reflected on the film’s lasting impact and its warm reception from audiences, stating, “Coincidentally today is my birthday. So Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was released last year on my birthday not by design but coincidentally. One year later, the film continues to resonate with the audience. It is everyone’s favourite blueschaser.”
Anees Bazmee praised lead actor Kartik Aaryan for showcasing his exceptional comic timing, which he believes gained major recognition through this film. “Bachche ne kamaal ka kaam kiya. The world would have never known of his fabulous comic timing if it wasn’t for Bhool Bhulaiyaa,” he remarked, also revealing his plans to collaborate with Aaryan on future comedy projects, including the highly anticipated “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4.”
When asked about the upcoming sequel, Bazmee confirmed, “Most definitely. It is work in progress. The love that the series has accrued over the years is unsurpassable.” He emphasizes that Aaryan will definitely return for this project, though he hinted at the possibility of introducing a new actress to the series, bringing fresh faces to the beloved franchise.
Looking back at “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3,” Bazmee expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside legends Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan. He noted, “The two legends together, they never let me feel I was working with legends. They were punctual, disciplined, competitive and yet collaborative. Bohat mazaa aaya.”
As a filmmaker, Bazmee holds onto a heartfelt wish for his future work: “To keep entertaining the audience. To make people laugh during these times of stress is the biggest blessing I can think of.”
The successful anniversary celebration of “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” underscores not only the film’s achievements at the box office, surpassing Rs. 100 crores within its opening weekend, but also the potential for the horror-comedy genre to thrive in contemporary cinema. With positive audience reception, both Aaryan’s star power and Bazmee’s unique storytelling signal a promising future for Bollywood’s evolving landscape.
