The American Conference has revealed the standout performers from Week 10 of the 2025 football season, showcasing impressive efforts from multiple players across several teams.
Leading the recognition is UTSA’s quarterback, McCown, who orchestrated a resounding 48-26 victory over Tulane with an exceptional performance. The redshirt junior completed 31 of 33 passes for 370 yards and four touchdowns, setting a school record by hitting his first 16 attempts. His completion rate of 93.9 percent not only established a new UTSA standard but also tied for the second-highest in conference history. McCown’s partnership with receivers was notable, as he connected with David Amador II for two touchdown passes, and also found Will Henderson III and Devin McCuin for additional scores. His impressive completion percentage stands out this season, marking him as the best among FBS players with at least 20 completed passes.
Mean Green’s Hammonds also made headlines during North Texas’ 31-17 upset over previously undefeated Navy. The sophomore defensive back was pivotal in the second half, recording four tackles and two crucial interceptions. His first interception came at midfield, halting a Navy drive, while his second, in the end zone late in the fourth quarter, preserved the lead for his team.
Another highlight from the weekend was Army’s thrilling finish against rival Air Force. Jones kicked a decisive 27-yard field goal as time expired, securing a 20-17 win for the Black Knights. He had also earlier converted a 44-yard field goal that helped Army take a lead into halftime.
The week also saw standout performances from other players, including one who accounted for 312 offensive yards in a victory at Rice, completing 225 passing yards and adding 87 rushing yards and a touchdown. Memphis showcased a strong defense with a player making 11 tackles, three for loss, as they won 38-14 against Rice. One standout running back rushed for 197 yards and scored four touchdowns in the Mean Green’s win over Navy, while another player celebrated receiving 10 passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns.
These performances not only highlight individual talent but also reflect the competitiveness of the American Conference as teams push toward the latter part of the season with playoff aspirations. The achievements of these players underscore the excitement of college football and the significance of each week’s matchups.
