The Fitton Center for Creative Arts is set to kick off the America250 celebrations with its “Born in the USA” performance on January 24. As the nation approaches its Fourth of July festivities, residents can look forward to an array of celebrations including fireworks, parades, and live music. The America250 events will span the entire year, with more details expected to be unveiled in early 2026.

According to Rawlinson, these celebrations will bring to life Butler County’s rich history and heritage as the country marks this significant anniversary. The events will provide both residents and visitors an opportunity to engage with the stories that have shaped the region through various performances, exhibits, and special programming.

Throughout 2026, numerous opportunities will emerge for community members to engage in the America250 celebrations across Butler County. A partnership between the Butler County Board of Commissioners and Travel Butler County aims to promote a series of exciting initiatives set for the year. One of the highlights is a newly introduced “Time Travel Trail,” featuring over 40 historic sites and landmarks throughout the county.

Participants who check in at ten different locations on the trail will receive a commemorative plush eagle, symbolizing the America250 celebration. The check-ins will commence on January 1st and will continue throughout the year, allowing ample time for residents to complete the trail and claim their prize. Additionally, exclusive America250 souvenirs will be available at community events, and local businesses will offer themed promotions and treats to enhance the celebratory spirit.

Rawlinson encourages community involvement, emphasizing that America250 represents a unique opportunity to celebrate history and showcase local pride. By attending the planned festivities and supporting local businesses, community members can help preserve Butler County’s rich history and foster a sense of pride in their community. This celebration offers a singular chance to partake in a once-in-a-generation event.

With a variety of activities on the horizon, America250 promises to provide fresh and engaging ways to explore Butler County’s past. Rawlinson noted that the full year of festivities will offer rich opportunities for learning and connection during this remarkable nationwide celebration.
