Authorities are actively searching for 16-year-old Jasmin Zapata after she was reportedly forced into a two-door grey Chevy Silverado on Monday evening. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has issued an Amber Alert, declaring Zapata in urgent need of assistance.

According to CBI, witnesses described the suspect, 19-year-old Juan Bretado, and an unidentified accomplice, both accused of abducting Zapata at around 8:57 p.m. from a location near Thornton Parkway and Gale Boulevard. The vehicle of interest is marked with a Colorado license plate AXW-L52 and features a distinctive lime green “Timpano” sticker on the lower left of its rear windshield. Bretado, who is believed to have been driving the truck, is described as standing 5 feet, 8 inches tall with brown eyes and black hair.

Zapata, who was last seen wearing a black shirt and pants, also has brown eyes and black hair, standing at 5 feet, 5 inches, and weighing approximately 110 pounds.

The Boulder Police Department is collaborating with CBI on this case, urging anyone with information regarding Zapata’s whereabouts to immediately call 911 or reach out to the Boulder Police at 303-441-3333.
