Thomas Hickman, a driver from Georgia, shared his experience of physical strain from the job and emphasized the need for better health insurance and working conditions. Other drivers echoed his sentiments, expressing their desire for more support and better treatment from the company. Ash’shura Brooks from Illinois highlighted the dangerous pressures drivers face, particularly in extreme weather conditions, where safety sometimes takes a backseat to productivity.

Amid the ongoing strike, drivers hope that heightened public awareness, especially during the holiday season, may lead Amazon to reconsider its policies and improve the working environment for its delivery personnel. The Teamsters have pointed to Amazon’s $2 trillion market value and notable profits as evidence that the company has ample resources to enhance compensation and benefits for drivers.
