Amanda Bynes is celebrating a significant milestone in her weight loss journey, recently sharing her progress on Instagram. The former child star posted a paparazzi photo taken in Los Angeles, revealing that she has shed 28 pounds since starting the weight loss medication Ozempic.
In her post, Bynes candidly discussed her previous struggles with her weight, noting that she was once 180 pounds but now weighs 152 pounds. While she expressed that she still sees herself as larger, the photo serves as a source of inspiration for her. “I know I still look big but this photo is really inspiring to me!” she said.
Bynes, 39, began her weight loss journey back in June, initially weighing 173 pounds. She had expressed a desire to look better in paparazzi photos and aimed to eventually reach a weight of around 130 pounds. Her enthusiasm for sharing her experience has included promises to keep her followers updated on her progress through social media.
In a TikTok update shared with her 467,700 followers, Bynes noted that she had lost 20 pounds and praised the effects of Ozempic, saying, “It’s really working for me.” She is committed to continuing her journey towards feeling “skinny and cute,” and has encouraged others by sharing her story.
However, in March 2024, Bynes faced a setback, revealing that she had gained weight due to struggles with depression. Despite this, she shared a positive outlook, stating, “I’m doing a lot better now and have learned to do opposite action when I don’t feel like working out or eating clean.” At that time, she weighed 162 pounds and aimed to return to a weight of 110 pounds.
Ozempic, a GLP-1 receptor agonist initially developed for diabetes treatment, has gained popularity as a weight loss solution in recent years. Bynes’ candidness about her journey resonates with many who face similar challenges, and her determination to achieve her fitness goals provides a hopeful perspective on personal health journeys.
