Amanda Bynes is making strides in her weight loss journey with the help of Ozempic, a medication originally designed for managing type 2 diabetes. On November 5, the actress and visual artist shared an exciting update with her nearly 460,000 TikTok followers, revealing that she has successfully lost twenty pounds and aims to shed an additional fifteen.
“I’m 163 [pounds] now,” Bynes announced in her TikTok video. She explained that she initially gained weight while taking the Ozempic pill, going from 173 to 180 pounds. However, with continued use of the Ozempic injection, she has managed to drop back down to 163 pounds.
Bynes expressed her enthusiasm about the medication, stating, “It’s really working for me.” She believes that Ozempic has not only helped reduce her food cravings but has also been a key factor in her weight management. “I’m trying to lose more weight just to feel skinny and cute,” she added, noting her intent to keep using the medication for continued progress.
In June, Bynes had revealed her hopes of reaching a target weight of 130 pounds and improving her appearance in “paparazzi pictures.” She has been candid about her struggles with mental health, sharing that she experienced a weight gain of over twenty pounds due to depression last month. Despite these challenges, Bynes is adopting a positive mindset, stating, “I’m doing a lot better now” and emphasizing the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through workout routines and clean eating.
The use of Ozempic for weight loss has generated mixed reactions among celebrities. While some, like Fat Joe and Amy Schumer, have praised its effectiveness, others, including Lizzo, have chosen to discontinue its use after trying it. Bynes’ openness about her journey serves as a reminder of the importance of not just physical health, but mental well-being as well, as she continues to work toward her weight loss goals.
