Allen Parish Nurse Practitioner Arrested in Medicaid Fraud Case

Authorities in Allen Parish are currently addressing a serious case involving Allison Jill Miller, a 36-year-old licensed nurse practitioner from Oakdale, who has been charged with multiple counts of fraud and drug-related offenses. This situation has sparked alarm in the community as it unfolds.

Miller faces four counts each of Medicaid fraud and identity theft, along with four counts associated with the unlawful prescription, distribution, dispensing, or aiding in the illegal acquisition of controlled substances. The investigation was launched in October following allegations of Medicare fraud and the illegal distribution of medications, which prompted the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office to take action.

As the investigation progressed, officials learned that Miller had been involved in a troubling practice: prescribing medication to her patients and then personally collecting those prescriptions from the pharmacy. This method raises significant concerns about the potential for illegal drug distribution.

Today, law enforcement has confirmed Miller’s arrest, and she has been booked into the Allen Parish Jail. Details regarding her bond amount are still pending.

The Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking additional information from the public and is encouraging anyone who may have insights related to the case to contact them at 337-639-4353 or the APSO Detective Division at 337-639-3086. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to uncover the full scope of Miller’s alleged actions and their ramifications for the community.

Officials are hopeful that community cooperation will aid the investigation, further ensuring that such illegal activities do not undermine public trust in healthcare professionals.
