ALICE IN CHAINS has been compelled to cancel their concert scheduled for May 8 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, following a non-life-threatening medical emergency involving drummer Sean Kinney. The band announced the cancellation via social media, expressing their regret and apologizing for any inconvenience. They confirmed that refunds would be available at the point of purchase for ticket holders.
Despite this setback, ALICE IN CHAINS is set to participate in a series of upcoming festivals and concerts this month, including the MMRBQ in Camden, New Jersey, on May 10, Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio, on May 11, and Welcome To Rockville in Daytona Beach, Florida, on May 16. Additionally, they have headlining shows lined up in Nashville, Tennessee, on May 13, and Dothan, Alabama, on May 15. The band is also scheduled to perform at the final BLACK SABBATH/Ozzy Osbourne show on July 5 in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Lead singer William DuVall recently shared insights about the band’s enthusiasm for the upcoming shows in a radio interview. He emphasized their excitement about connecting with fans during these performances, hinting that there might be more future plans to discuss after their May schedule wraps up.
Since their regrouping in 2006 with DuVall as a member, ALICE IN CHAINS has released several albums, including their latest, “Rainier Fog,” in 2018. Guitarist Jerry Cantrell has also been active, releasing two solo albums and performing extensively in recent years.
As fans look forward to future performances, this temporary pause due to Kinney’s health shows the band’s commitment to the well-being of its members. The hope is for a swift recovery, allowing ALICE IN CHAINS to return to the stage, continuing to deliver their powerful music to fans around the world.
