Alcorn State’s Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite Gears Up for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Excitement is building for the Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite, Alcorn State University’s marching band, as they prepare for their momentous participation in the 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. The university community is invited to show their support during a special sendoff event scheduled for Sunday, November 23.

The sendoff will occur at four designated locations, allowing alumni, friends, and family to join in this celebratory occasion. The first gathering will be at 3:05 p.m. at the campus park in Lorman. The parade of supporters will then move to Port Gibson, where people can gather between 3:25 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 61 and Highway 18. At 4:05 p.m., the excitement continues in Vicksburg at the intersection of Highway 61 and Pemberton Road. Finally, supporters can meet in Clinton between 4:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. near the Methodist Rehabilitation Center.

Community members will bring banners, pom poms, and signs to cheer on the band, making this an unforgettable tribute to their achievement. The participation of the Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite in such a prestigious event highlights the talent and dedication of the students and the pride of the Alcorn State University community.
