Alaska’s $1,700 PFD Check: What You Need to Know Before August 2025!

Residents of Alaska can look forward to receiving $1,700 stimulus checks in August 2025 as part of the state’s Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) program. Known as “The Last Frontier,” Alaska has a unique program that rewards citizens for their residency, thereby helping them alleviate economic burdens.

The PFD program was established in 1980, with funding sourced from the state’s oil revenues. This initiative benefits nearly 600,000 Alaskans, providing financial assistance to support both individuals and the local economy.

For residents to qualify for the upcoming $1,702 payment, they must meet specific criteria. These include having no felony convictions or incarceration in 2024, maintaining residency in Alaska throughout the year with intentions of staying, not leaving Alaska for over 180 consecutive days, and not holding residency or benefits in another state or country since the end of 2023. Additionally, applicants needed to submit their PFD applications by March 31, 2025.

The stimulus check consists of an annual dividend of $1,440 plus an energy relief bonus of $262. Payments will be distributed based on the chosen preference indicated in the application, whether via mailed checks or direct deposits.

The confirmed payment date for Alaskans awaiting their checks is August 21, 2025, specifically for those with an “Eligible-Not Paid” status as of August 13. Residents can track their application status by visiting the Alaska Department of Revenue’s official website and selecting the “myPFD” option to verify or update their information.

This program not only provides immediate financial relief to residents but also fosters a sense of community and belonging, as it underscores the importance of the Alaskan lifestyle and its natural resources.
