The Alabama Crimson Tide hosted the Missouri Tigers for homecoming this Saturday in Tuscaloosa.
In the first quarter, Alabama’s defense displayed a strong performance, stopping Missouri on a crucial third down. Following a punt from Mizzou, Alabama took over at their own 21-yard line. Kendrick Law made a notable play, advancing inside the 31 for a first down. Although they faced a loss on a subsequent play, Graham Nicholson successfully kicked a 47-yard field goal, putting Alabama ahead 3-0 with 8:50 remaining in the first quarter.
Alabama’s defense continued to shine, forcing another Missouri punt. However, Alabama’s subsequent offensive drive ended in a three-and-out, leading to another punt. Missouri then began their drive at the 26-yard line but managed only minimal gains before punting the ball back to Alabama.
Starting their third offensive series from the 7-yard line, Alabama struggled once more, and a third straight punt ensued. The first quarter concluded with Alabama leading Missouri 3-0.
As the second quarter commenced, Missouri could not advance, punting once more. Alabama began their drive at the 48-yard line, with Milroe completing several passes. However, a few setbacks kept them from scoring, leading to yet another punt.
Missouri’s offense took over again, but they too stalled, resulting in another punt. Alabama began their next drive at the 20-yard line, where Milroe connected with Bernard for a gain of 26 yards. After several more plays, including a 39-yard field goal from Nicholson, Alabama extended their lead to 6-0 with 4:38 remaining in the second quarter.
Missouri’s next drive saw a change at quarterback due to an injury, but their offense continued to struggle. Alabama’s defense intercepted a pass from Drew Pyne, setting up a scoring opportunity. Milroe led a successful drive downfield, culminating in a 3-yard touchdown run from Miller, bringing the score to 13-0 by the end of the first half.
In the third quarter, Milroe showcased his rushing ability with a 43-yard run, adding to his impressive season with another rushing touchdown, increasing Alabama’s lead to 20-0. Moments later, Alabama capitalized on a second interception, gaining good field position. Milroe then led a scoring drive, including a touchdown run from Miller, making the score 27-0.
Both teams were unable to score in their following possessions, and the third quarter ended with Alabama firmly in control at 27-0.
In the fourth quarter, Alabama continued their dominance with a 35-yard touchdown run from Haynes, extending their advantage to 34-0 with 11:06 remaining in the game.
