An IndiGo flight traveling from Pune to Hyderabad was unexpectedly diverted to Vijayawada on Sunday morning due to congestion in the airspace above Hyderabad. Flight 6E 6473, which departed from Pune Airport at 8:43 AM, landed safely in Vijayawada, with no reported issues during the flight.
The decision to divert the flight was made by the pilot in response to notifications regarding the air traffic situation. Once the airspace conditions improve, the flight is set to continue its journey from Vijayawada to its intended destination in Hyderabad.
In a related incident earlier this week, another IndiGo flight (6E 6152) traveling from Kolkata to Ranchi was temporarily grounded at Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport after the pilot identified a potential issue with one of the front tyres. Initial reports suggested a puncture, but airport authorities clarified that there was no significant problem. For safety reasons, the pilot opted to return the flight for precautionary checks.
The grounded flight was scheduled to proceed to Patna and Lucknow thereafter, but those subsequent flights were canceled. Passengers bound for Patna were provided taxi services, while those headed to Lucknow were accommodated on alternative flights. All passengers were safely deboarded from the aircraft.
Despite the unexpected changes, the focus on safety by the pilots and the prompt assistance provided to passengers reflects a commitment to passenger well-being in air travel.
