“Air Taxis Take Flight: Archer’s Game-Changing Role in LA28 Olympics”

Archer has officially been named the Air Taxi Provider for the upcoming LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, alongside Team USA. This innovative collaboration aims to integrate Archer’s Midnight eVTOL aircraft within various aspects of the event, including the transport of VIPs, fans, and essential personnel, as well as enhancing facilities for emergency services and security.

As Los Angeles prepares to welcome over 15 million visitors and attract billion-dollar global broadcasts, Archer’s Midnight aircraft, designed to carry four passengers, will play a crucial role in navigating the city. This electric air taxi not only reduces noise and emissions compared to traditional helicopters but is also engineered with advanced safety features, including multiple engines and propellers to meet FAA certification standards akin to those of commercial airliners. Manufacturing of the Midnight takes place at Archer’s facilities in San Jose, California, and Covington, Georgia.

The operational network planned for the LA28 Games will include vertiports at iconic venues such as the Inglewood Stadium and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, as well as strategic hubs like Los Angeles International Airport, Hollywood, Orange County, and Santa Monica. This network is poised to significantly enhance transportation options during the Games, offering efficient travel routes within 10-20 minutes across the city’s landscape.

Archer’s CEO, Adam Goldstein, expressed excitement over the partnership, stating, “Transforming the way people get around Los Angeles is a priority for us, especially during such a globally significant event.” The LA28 chairperson, Casey Wasserman, also emphasized the partnership as part of a broader vision to innovatively reshape the Olympic experience, showcasing the best of Los Angeles to the world.

This partnership not only seeks to elevate the Games but also aims to leave a lasting impact on urban transportation in America, which resonates with Archer’s commitment to sustainability and progress in aviation technology. The agreement also includes features for storytelling across NBCUniversal’s Olympic coverage in 2026 and 2028.

The LA28 Games will mark a historic occasion as they represent the third time Los Angeles has hosted the Olympics and the inaugural hosting of the Paralympics, promising to create a memorable platform for athletes from around the globe.

By thinking of creative solutions for urban mobility and ensuring a legacy of innovation, Archer’s collaboration offers a hopeful glimpse into the future of transportation, not just for Los Angeles, but potentially for cities worldwide as they explore electric and greener alternatives.
