Air Algérie has signed a codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways, significantly expanding its network to new destinations in the Middle East and Asia. This partnership opens pathways for Air Algérie passengers to travel to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Muscat in Oman.

In return, Qatar Airways gains access to several cities in Algeria, including Constantine, Oran, Annaba, Tamanrasset, Tindouf, and Timimoune, through the Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers.

The two airlines have begun ticket sales for these shared destinations as of Monday, with codeshare flights set to commence on November 1.

This agreement is part of Air Algérie’s strategic development plan, as highlighted in their official statement. Samy Elkarim Boutemadja, Head of Commercial Division at Air Algérie, emphasized, “This codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways will strengthen Air Algérie’s position in the Middle East and Asia. It provides our customers with more options to access new destinations while promoting travel to Algeria. This fully aligns with Air Algérie’s broader strategy to expand its network and connections via our hub in Algiers. We look forward to a fruitful partnership with Qatar Airways.”

Qatar Airways’ Commercial Director, Thierry Antinori, also expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “This new codeshare agreement will solidify our presence in key African markets.” Air Algérie further noted that the agreement includes plans for additional destinations in the future.

This partnership not only enhances travel options for both airlines’ customers but also signifies a growing collaboration between Algeria and Qatar, promoting greater connectivity and fostering international tourism.
