Aguilera and Carpenter Revive a Timeless Classic!

Christina Aguilera is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her iconic hit “What a Girl Wants” with a fresh reimagining of the song performed alongside Sabrina Carpenter.

On September 23, as part of Spotify’s Anniversaries LIVE concert series, the duo unveiled a new version of the classic track. This collaboration marks a delightful blend of nostalgia and modern artistry for music enthusiasts. The powerful performance showcases Carpenter’s rich vocals, adding depth to a song that fans are thrilled to hear revived.

In an Instagram video from September 18, Carpenter expressed her admiration for Aguilera, sharing how the singer’s talent inspired her from a young age. She recalled first hearing Aguilera’s voice when her mother played a video of Aguilera performing “A Sunday Kind of Love” on Star Search at just eight years old. Carpenter noted that this moment motivated her to pursue her own singing career.

Originally recorded in 1998 and re-recorded in 1999, “What a Girl Wants” became a significant hit, showcasing Aguilera’s powerful vocals following her rise to fame with “Genie in a Bottle.” The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 and achieved chart success in several countries, including Spain, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Over the years, it has been covered by numerous artists, with Kelly Clarkson delivering a memorable rendition during her show in 2021.
