The Texas A&M baseball team will wrap up its fall exhibition schedule on Friday night by hosting the University of Houston at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and will be played over 12 innings. Admission and parking are free, and concession stands will be available.
In their fall opener, the Aggies showcased their strength by defeating Houston Christian 20-2 in 12 innings, utilizing 17 position players and 12 pitchers. The standout performance came from a sophomore who went 3-for-4, hitting a home run, a triple, and driving in four runs. On the pitching side, the Texas A&M staff recorded 17 strikeouts, with one pitcher contributing three strikeouts in a scoreless inning.
This season marks the first under head coach, who previously assisted the team for three years and helped lead them to two College World Series appearances. Coach has been instrumental in transforming Texas A&M into one of the premier offensive teams in the nation.
The Aggies return 22 players from last year’s squad that advanced to the College World Series Finals, including three All-Americans. During the offseason, the coaching staff added a promising group of newcomers, featuring seven players recognized on Baseball America’s annual top-100 transfers list.
Last season, Texas A&M faced Houston at Blue Bell Park, winning by a score of 13-11.
