Aggies Gear Up for Fall Showdown Against Houston

The Texas A&M baseball team will wrap up its fall exhibition schedule on Friday night, hosting Houston at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. The game is set to begin at 6 p.m. and will last for 12 innings. Entry and parking will be free for all attendees, and concession stands will be available.

In their fall opener, the Aggies showcased their talent by using 17 position players and 12 pitchers to secure a 20-2 victory over Houston Christian in 12 innings. A standout performance came from a sophomore player who recorded three hits, including a homer and a triple, along with four RBI. On the pitching side, the team’s staff struck out 17 batters, with notable contributions including one pitcher who achieved three strikeouts in a scoreless inning.

Texas A&M enters this season under the leadership of a new head coach, who previously assisted the team and helped it to two College World Series appearances. During his time at the university, he has built Texas A&M into one of the most potent offensive teams in the nation.

The Aggies welcome back 22 players from last season’s roster, which made it to the College World Series Finals, featuring three All-Americans. In addition, the coaching staff has brought in several talented newcomers, including seven players recognized on Baseball America’s annual top-100 transfers list.

The two teams faced off last season at Blue Bell Park, with Texas A&M emerging victorious with a score of 13-11.
