Aggies Dominate Missouri in Powerful 41-10 Showcase

COLLEGE STATION — No. 21 Texas A&M (5-1, 3-0) showcased their strength with a commanding 41-10 victory over No. 9 Missouri (4-1, 1-1) on Saturday at Kyle Field. What was anticipated to be a competitive matchup between two top-25 SEC teams turned into a display of dominance by the Aggies.

Quarterback Conner Weigman returned to the starting lineup after a two-week absence and performed flawlessly. The offense operated smoothly, making significant plays and executing well-structured drives, outmatching the Tigers throughout the game.

Running back Le’Veon Moss had a standout performance, rushing for 138 yards and scoring three touchdowns, effectively overpowering Missouri’s defensive front.

In the closing minutes, Missouri was unable to find the end zone and settled for a short field goal with just 8 seconds remaining. This marked the first time in the season that the Aggies delivered a complete performance against a strong opponent, controlling the game from start to finish.

“I was proud of their will to continue to play. … This is a step we needed to take, especially after not finishing well in other games,” Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko stated.

The Aggies dominated in total yardage, outgaining Missouri 512-254, with 276 yards coming from the ground game.

At his introductory press conference, Elko emphasized the desire to establish a blue-collar program. He noted that the team’s efforts are beginning to reflect that vision.

With this win, the Aggies have secured five consecutive victories and will enter a bye week. Elko highlighted the growth of the team since their loss to Notre Dame at the start of the season.

“We are in a growth mindset … focusing on improvement every day,” he remarked. “We didn’t lose our confidence after the setback against Notre Dame.”

While the running game was a key factor in their success, Moss acknowledged that Weigman’s throwing ability also opened up opportunities for the offense.

“The passing game created a lot of space for the running game,” Moss said.

Defensive lineman Nic Scourton expressed confidence in Weigman, stating that his determination during recovery showed his readiness to lead the team upon his return.

“He worked hard to get back on the field. He didn’t let negativity affect him,” Scourton added.

Weigman completed 18 of 22 passes for 276 yards and added 33 rushing yards. Following a defensive stand on fourth down to start the game, he led a successful opening drive, showcasing good timing and rhythm. The drive ended with running back Amari Daniels scoring from 1 yard out, giving Texas A&M a 7-0 lead.

The Aggies extended their lead with a 44-yard field goal from kicker Randy Bond on their next possession, followed by two more touchdowns before halftime. Daniels scored again after an eight-play, 65-yard drive, and Moss added another 1-yard touchdown run shortly after, pushing the lead to 24 points.

The first half was highlighted by A&M’s successful rushing attack, featuring three touchdown runs—two by Daniels and one by Moss—while Weigman amassed 193 passing yards on 15 of 19 completions.

Texas A&M’s defense was formidable, registering six sacks and effectively neutralizing Missouri’s key players, limiting Luther Burden III and Theo Wease Jr. to just three receptions combined.

Looking ahead, Texas A&M will take a bye week before preparing for a matchup against Mississippi State in two weeks.
