Adidas has recently signed a contract with Ezra Frech, a two-time Paralympic gold medalist, who will leave his collegiate career at the University of Southern California (USC) to pursue professional athletics. At just 20 years old, Frech has made a significant impact in para track and field, notably being highlighted in the Peacock documentary “Adaptive,” which showcased his inspiring journey in the sport.
Frech is set to make his debut with Adidas at the 2025 Toyota USATF Para National Championships in Eugene, where he will compete in multiple events including the T63 long jump, 100m dash, and high jump. This marks a pivotal moment in Frech’s career, who has established himself as a prominent advocate for adaptive athletics and is preparing to be a crucial athlete leading up to the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
His professional journey follows an impressive international track record. At the age of 16, Frech participated in the postponed 2020 Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo, achieving commendable results in the high jump and long jump events. His career continued to flourish with a gold medal win and a world record in high jump T63 at the 2023 World Para Athletics Championships in Paris.
Moreover, he set a new world record for high jump at the 2024 U.S. Paralympic Trials and further excelled at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, securing gold in both the 100m T63 and the high jump, where he also established a new Paralympic Games record.
Frech’s transition to professional athletics with Adidas is not only a testament to his talent and determination but also serves as an inspiration to others in the adaptive athletic community. His journey demonstrates the potential for athletes with disabilities to excel on a global stage, promoting the values of inclusivity and perseverance in sports.
