Addison Rae has officially released her debut album titled “Addison,” coinciding with the launch of the music video for her new single “Times Like These.” The album’s arrival comes a year after Rae began hinting at her musical journey, showcasing various singles that have led up to this moment.
Rae first captured attention with a video featuring the unreleased track “Aquamarine” last June, followed by the lead single “Diet Pepsi” in August. “Aquamarine” was released in the following months, and leading up to the album’s launch, Rae shared a total of five songs, each paired with its own music video.
“Times Like These,” her latest single, debuts with a vibrant dance-driven music video directed by Ethan James Green. The creative process behind “Addison” involved collaboration with notable producers Elvira Anderfjärd and Luka Kloser, who are recognized as protégés of renowned pop producer Max Martin. Kloser mentioned Rae’s eclectic musical taste, which often veered towards left and underground influences.
This album marks a significant milestone for Rae, nearly four years after she first sought to transition from TikTok fame to the pop music scene. Although her 2021 single “Obsessed” did not achieve the success she anticipated, her determination has paid off. Rae initially postponed her first EP but managed to build excitement after some songs leaked online, leading to their release in 2023.
Having signed with Columbia Records, Rae is solidifying her presence in the music industry, further highlighted by her collaboration on a remix of Charli XCX’s “Von Dutch” and live performances that reinforce her role in the pop landscape.
With “Addison,” Rae demonstrates her evolving artistry and willingness to explore new musical territories, marking an exciting chapter in her career that fans are eager to follow.
