Acura RSX Spotted at Tesla Supercharger Ahead of EV Debut

Recent sightings of camouflaged prototypes of the upcoming Acura RSX have created quite a buzz, particularly after they were spotted at a Tesla Supercharging station. This event precedes the anticipated launch of the vehicle, scheduled for the second half of 2026.

The Acura RSX, which is being developed on Honda’s proprietary global electric vehicle platform, will feature the NACS (SAE J3400) charging port. This detail suggests that the vehicles are undergoing tests for DC fast charging using Tesla’s Superchargers, aligning with Honda and Acura’s access to this charging infrastructure, which began in July for Honda and more recently in Canada in October.

Photos of the RSX prototypes were shared on social media by KindelAuto, highlighting their presence at the V4 Supercharging stations and offering a glimpse into the future of Acura’s electric lineup. The post, credited to Shubham Gajjar, showcases the all-electric 2027 Acura RSX, indicating a significant step towards revitalizing the brand’s presence in the EV market, especially following the discontinuation of the Acura ZDX.

Details regarding the specifications of the RSX remain relatively sparse; however, it has been described as having sporty and premium attributes, including a powerful dual-motor all-wheel drive system, sport-tuned double wishbone front suspension, a low center of gravity, and standard Brembo brakes. Additionally, the model will come equipped with power export capabilities and Honda’s all-new Asimo OS.

Production of the Acura RSX will take place at the Marysville Auto Plant in Ohio, which is designated as Honda’s EV Hub. It is expected to hit the U.S. market in late 2026, likely as a 2027 model. The introduction of the RSX is anticipated to pave the way for future Honda EV models built on the same innovative platform, suggesting that the brand is indeed committed to a robust electrification strategy.
