AC Milan Ready for Pisa Clash as Allegri Urges Focus at San Siro

In anticipation of their upcoming match against newly promoted Pisa, AC Milan is gearing up to welcome their fans back to San Siro on Friday at 20:45 CEST. Coach Massimiliano Allegri shared his insights at a press conference held the day before the match, which was broadcast on the AC Milan Official App and Milan TV.

Allegri emphasized the significance of the fixture, noting that Pisa has demonstrated strong performances thus far in the season. He acknowledged their fighting spirit, goal-scoring ability, and physicality, warning that if his team does not approach the game with the proper mindset, they could face substantial challenges. Having already encountered difficulties against another newly promoted side this season, Allegri is eager to secure a positive result. He highlighted the importance of winning not only for the points tally but also for the team’s aspirations to qualify for the Champions League, stating that reaching at least 74 points will be essential.

The coach also paid tribute to Pisa’s defensive organization under their coach, Alberto Gilardino, expressing that scoring goals against them would not be an easy task. He affirmed the necessity of maintaining a strong defensive performance, cautioned against underestimating any team, and stated the need for respect in their approach to the encounter.

Reflecting on the season so far, Allegri remarked that while he cannot definitively say they are exceeding expectations, the team is dedicated to working hard each day. He attributed some of their success to the quality of players inherited from previous management and strategic signings made by the club.

Looking back on his own history, Allegri recalled his time spent in Pisa during the 1988-89 season, mentioning fond memories of President Romeo Anconetani, and how that experience shaped him as a player. He expressed curiosity about how Anconetani would adapt to modern football.

As AC Milan eyes the fixtures ahead, Allegri stressed the importance of staying focused and composed. With a busy schedule before the next international break, he acknowledged that October and November will be pivotal months for the team, aiming for a favorable position by March to contend for a top-four finish. While he encouraged fans to dream big, he emphasized the necessity for humility, hard work, and a balanced sense of enthusiasm, especially following their recent victory against Fiorentina. The support from the fans has been instrumental, and Allegri called on them to rally once more as the team prepares to face Pisa.
