AC/DC, the iconic Australian rock band known for their impressive sales records and timeless hits, is set to return to Denver for the first time in nearly a decade. The band revealed on Monday that their “Power Up” world tour will stop at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium on July 28, 2026. Their last performance in Denver occurred in February 2016.

The lineup for this highly anticipated concert features lead guitarist Angus Young, vocalist Brian Johnson, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug, and bass player Chris Chaney. AC/DC has a storied history in Denver, having performed multiple times during the 1980s and 90s, making this upcoming show a significant addition to their legacy.

AC/DC, formed in 1973, has achieved remarkable success, selling over 180 million albums globally. Their seminal album “Back in Black” remains the second-highest-selling album of all time, surpassed only by Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” The band’s unforgettable tracks, including “Highway to Hell,” “Thunderstruck,” and “You Shook Me All Night Long,” continue to dominate classic rock playlists and receive frequent placements in films and television.

This Denver concert will mark the ninth show in the North and Central American segment of their tour, which also includes stops in Europe and Australia. Additionally, it will be the band’s first headlining performance at Empower Field; previously, they played at the Pepsi Center and the now-closed McNichols Sports Arena.

Despite facing significant challenges in recent years, including lead singer Brian Johnson’s temporary departure due to hearing issues and the passing of rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young in 2017, the band has continued to push forward. Johnson has since returned, bringing renewed energy to their performances.

The tour will also feature opening act The Pretty Reckless, adding an exciting dynamic to the concert experience. General ticket sales for this much-anticipated event will commence at noon MST on Friday, November 7, available through Ticketmaster.com.

Fans eagerly await this chance to see one of rock’s most enduring bands return to the stage, promising a night filled with electrifying performances and classic anthems that have resonated across generations.
