Abigail Disney’s Bold Move: Donations Flow Again for Harris Campaign!

Abigail Disney, an heiress and granddaughter of a co-founder of The Walt Disney Company, announced she will resume her donations to the Democratic Party now that President Joe Biden has decided not to seek reelection.

Earlier this month, Disney had stated she would withhold contributions until Biden stepped aside. However, in an email to CNBC on Monday, she confirmed her support is back on now that Biden has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidential candidacy.

When she initially declared her decision to pause her donations, Disney expressed her support for Harris, saying, “We have an excellent Vice President. If Democrats would tolerate any of her perceived shortcomings even one-tenth as much as they have tolerated Biden’s, and if Democrats can find a way to stop quibbling and rally around her, we can win this election by a lot.”

Disney was among a group of high-profile Democratic donors who were critical of Biden following his poor debate performance against former President Donald Trump. Reports suggest that pressure from the donor community contributed to Biden’s decision to withdraw from the race. Following Biden’s announcement, prominent Democratic donor George Soros and his son, Alex Soros, also expressed their support for Harris.
