Heiress Abigail Disney has announced she will resume her financial support for the Democratic Party now that President Joe Biden has exited the 2024 presidential race.

This decision follows her earlier declaration that she would halt contributions until Biden was replaced at the top of the ticket. In a response to CNBC on Monday, she confirmed, “Yes, I will resume supporting,” after Biden stepped aside and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.

When she initially withdrew her donations, Disney expressed her support for Harris, stating, “We have an excellent Vice President. If Democrats would tolerate any of her perceived shortcomings even one-tenth as much as they have tolerated Biden’s—and let’s not kid ourselves about where race and gender figure in that inequity—and if Democrats can find a way to stop quibbling and rally around her, we can win this election by a lot.”

Disney was among several prominent Democratic donors who voiced dissatisfaction with Biden following his poor debate performance against former President Donald Trump. Reports indicate that pressure from key donors and dwindling financial support contributed to Biden’s decision to step down.

In line with this, prominent political donor George Soros and his son, Alex Soros, also expressed their endorsement for Harris after Biden’s announcement.
