Abigail Disney Drops a Bombshell: Resumes Donations After Biden’s Exit!

Heiress Abigail Disney has announced her intention to resume financial support for the Democratic Party now that President Joe Biden has officially withdrawn from the 2024 presidential race.

Disney, who is the granddaughter of a co-founder of The Walt Disney Company, previously stated she would halt contributions until Biden was replaced as the party’s candidate. In a recent email to CNBC, she confirmed her decision to re-engage, stating, “Yes, I will resume supporting,” following Biden’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidency.

When Disney first declared her intent to stop donations, she expressed her backing for Harris, emphasizing the Vice President’s capabilities. She remarked, “We have an excellent Vice President. If Democrats would tolerate any of her perceived shortcomings even one-tenth as much as they have tolerated Biden’s (and let’s not kid ourselves about where race and gender figure in that inequity) and if Democrats can find a way to stop quibbling and rally around her, we can win this election by a lot.”

Disney’s decision to withhold donations was part of a broader dissatisfaction among high-profile Democratic donors following Biden’s poor debate performance against former President Donald Trump. Reports suggest that the pressure from wealthy contributors and the dwindling financial support contributed to Biden’s decision to exit the race.

Notably, financier George Soros and his son, Alex Soros, have also endorsed Harris in light of Biden’s withdrawal.
