‘Wheel of Fortune’ enters a new chapter as Ryan Seacrest joins Vanna White on the classic game show.

In the landscape of television, few programs have held as much enduring appeal as ‘Wheel of Fortune.’

On Monday night, a new era begins for this cherished game show with Ryan Seacrest stepping in as the host alongside the iconic Vanna White, marking the first change in hosting after more than 40 years.

Seacrest, well-known for his roles across various high-profile platforms including ‘American Idol,’ his radio show, and New Year’s Eve broadcasts, is a familiar figure to millions.

Entertainment reporter Joelle Garguilo spoke with the pair just hours prior to their launch on ‘Wheel of Fortune.’

“This is a dream I’ve had for a long time,” Seacrest commented. “It’s ‘Wheel of Fortune.’ This is a show we all recognize and love. Standing where Pat stood for so many years is truly an honor.”

Seacrest mentioned he received a message wishing him “Best of luck” from Pat Sajak, the long-time host who departed in 2024.

“I remember growing up watching the show,” Seacrest recalled. “When someone says ‘Wheel of Fortune,’ it signals time to dash to the living room, sit down, and enjoy some fun, leaving everything else behind.”

White shared a personal anecdote: “This is something I’m revealing for the first time. Long before I moved to L.A., I wrote in to be a contestant. I mentioned I lived in Atlanta, and they said I could audition when I got to L.A. Little did I know, I was auditioning to become the hostess.”

White also noted that she and Seacrest have had a friendship for two decades. “We’ve known each other for a long time. Now, we get to see each other much more regularly and learn more about each other every day.”

Tune in to see Ryan and Vanna on ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Monday at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.
