Tito Jackson, a founding member of The Jackson 5 and brother of the late Michael Jackson, has passed away at the age of 70, according to reports from Entertainment Tonight. His death occurred on Sunday, September 15, due to an apparent heart attack.
Before his passing, Tito was touring with his brothers Jackie and Marlon Jackson as part of The Jacksons. The group had recently performed in Surrey, England on September 8 and had more shows scheduled in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and Cincinnati, Ohio.
Earlier this week, while in Munich, Germany, Tito and The Jacksons visited a memorial dedicated to their brother Michael Jackson. He expressed gratitude for the memorial, acknowledging it as a tribute to both Michael’s memory and their shared legacy.
Tito was a key member of The Jackson 5 alongside his brothers Michael, Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and later Randy. The renowned family band produced numerous hits in the 1970s, including “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” and “I’ll Be There.” The Jackson 5 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Tito also pursued a solo career, releasing the albums “Tito Time” in 2016 and “Under Your Spell” in 2021.
He is survived by his three sons, Taj, TJ, and Taryll.
