49ers Reinforce Defense After Bosa Injury with Practice-Squad Pickup

The San Francisco 49ers are making adjustments to their defensive lineup following the unfortunate loss of star pass rusher Nick Bosa to a season-ending ACL tear. To bolster their defensive ranks, the team conducted tryouts for six defensive players on Tuesday, which included two defensive linemen.

One noteworthy participant in the tryouts was Shilo Sanders, son of the legendary Deion Sanders. Shilo, who previously signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent earlier this year, was waived during the final roster cuts in late August.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the 49ers have decided to bring back defensive end William Bradley-King to their practice squad. Bradley-King is no stranger to the 49ers, having spent a brief period with them during the preseason before being released during the roster cutdown to 53 players.

Selected in the seventh round by the Washington Commanders in 2021, Bradley-King has also been part of the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins rosters in previous years. He has appeared in four NFL games, recording seven tackles and half a sack.

The transaction to add Bradley-King to the 49ers’ practice squad is anticipated to be made official before Wednesday’s practice session. This move aims to shore up San Francisco’s defensive front in the wake of Bosa’s injury.
