Tyler Fulghum has shared his thoughts on why he supports the San Francisco 49ers over the Los Angeles Rams in their Week 15 clash.
In an update ahead of the game, 49ers running back Isaac Guerendo has been confirmed as active despite dealing with a sprained foot. Sources informed ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Guerendo feels confident as he prepares to take the field.
Additionally, linebacker Dre Greenlaw has been activated off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, making his return after suffering from a torn Achilles during last season’s Super Bowl. The 49ers will also have defensive end Nick Bosa on the roster again after he missed the last three games due to left hip and oblique injuries.
As the 49ers sit at 6-7, this game is crucial for their playoff aspirations. The team has dealt with significant injuries, ruling out left tackle Trent Williams, safety Malik Mustapha, and guard Ben Bartch, who was also placed on injured reserve.
Guerendo has stepped up to take on the starting running back role following injuries to Christian McCaffrey, Elijah Mitchell, and Jordan Mason. In a commendable debut against the Chicago Bears, he rushed for 78 yards and scored two touchdowns, while also contributing two receptions for 50 yards before his injury.
Though Guerendo didn’t practice at the start of the week, he was able to participate in a limited capacity on Wednesday, showing positivity in his recovery. Should he be limited during the game, Patrick Taylor Jr. is poised to step in, alongside practice squad players Ke’Shawn Vaughn and the recently signed Israel Abanikanda.
Guerendo made history by rushing for over 100 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns in his first start, joining the ranks of notable franchise players like Carlos Hyde and Earl Cooper.
As the 49ers face the Rams, fans are hopeful that their key players will rise to the occasion, allowing the team to improve its chances of making the playoffs. The combination of returning players and young talent such as Guerendo could be a turning point for the team in this critical matchup.
