The 2026 Free Agent Tracker has officially launched, featuring over 170 players with more expected to join the list following the conclusion of the postseason. As teams make strategic moves to clear their 40-man rosters and make decisions regarding their 2026 options, the Tracker will be continuously updated. This initiative aims to keep fans and analysts informed about player statuses, qualifying offers, and signings during the offseason.
Users can easily filter the list based on various criteria, including player status (signed or unsigned), previous team, and new signing team. Additional sorting by player handedness, age, and 2025 Wins Above Replacement (WAR) is available. Soon after the postseason wraps up, projected 2026 WAR stats will be incorporated into the Tracker, alongside the outcomes of the annual contract crowdsourcing project, which provides estimates on median contract totals, duration, and average annual values.
It’s essential to note that players with options are not yet included in the Tracker. Typically, these options are required to be exercised or declined within five days post-World Series. Once players opt out or become free agents, they will join the Tracker for tracking.
Highlighted players on the list include Jorge Mateo of the Baltimore Orioles, who has a $5.5 million club option, and Max Muncy from the Los Angeles Dodgers with a $10 million club option. In addition, notable players like Alex Bregman of the Boston Red Sox can opt out after the 2026 season or pursue a two-year, $80 million deal. The Tracker is also ready to include players posted from Japanese or Korean teams once they become available.
Fans and sports analysts alike are encouraged to share their feedback and suggestions for potential enhancements to the Tracker. The platform hopes to provide an invaluable resource for following player movements leading into the 2026 season.
