“2024 Emmy Awards Nominations Revealed”

The Emmys are almost upon us again.

Nominations for the 76th Emmy Awards were announced Wednesday, just six months after the strike-delayed 2023 ceremony.

The simultaneous strikes last year by SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America brought Hollywood to a standstill, resulting in fewer entries across categories this year. To be eligible for a 2024 Emmy nomination, entries must have been released between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024. The awards will be held on Sept. 15 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and broadcast on ABC.

“While this year has been marked by significant challenges for our industry and its workforce, there has been an abundance of remarkable programs, extraordinary performances and impactful storytelling,” Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego said in a news release.

Tony Hale from “Veep” and Sheryl Lee Ralph from “Abbott Elementary,” both Emmy winners, announced some of the top nominees live from the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.

With 25 nominations, FX’s “Shōgun,” about 17th-century feudal Japan, received the most nods. FX’s “The Bear,” which dominated the comedy categories at the January show, broke the Emmy record for a comedy series with 23 total nominations.
