A dual Logoman card featuring basketball legends Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan has made headlines after selling for $3.17 million at a recent Heritage Auctions event. This card, part of the 2003 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection, is particularly noteworthy as it is numbered 1-of-1 and has been graded a 6 by Professional Sports Authenticator. This sale marks it as the seventh-highest sale of a basketball card to date, making it a significant milestone in the collectibles market.
According to Card Ladder, this sale ranks as the second and third most expensive for cards of Bryant and Jordan respectively. Notably, this particular Logoman card is not autographed, contrasting with another dual Logoman card from the 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection—this one featuring both superstars’ signatures—which sold for a staggering $12.93 million in August, setting the record for the most expensive sports card ever sold.
The Heritage Auctions event also included other remarkable sales, such as two Mickey Mantle cards from the 1952 Topps collection, which collectively fetched over $850,000. The first card, graded an 8 by PSA, sold for $1,555,550, while a lower-graded version that features a high-quality Mantle autograph brought in $945,500. Additionally, a master set of 1962 Topps Baseball, comprising 691 cards with 688 receiving grades of 8 or higher, went for $512,400.
Heritage Auctions has solidified its place in the sports memorabilia world, crossing $2 billion in sales in 2025, building off of a record $1.867 billion in 2024. The auction house also made headlines in August 2024 by facilitating the sale of a Babe Ruth jersey for $24 million, the most expensive piece of sports memorabilia ever sold to date.
Looking ahead, additional valuable items are expected to close in upcoming auctions, including a Larry Bird jersey photo-matched to key playoff games and a Shohei Ohtani bat linked to his record-setting performances in 2024. These sales continue to indicate the robust demand for sports memorabilia and collectibles, making it an exciting time for collectors and investors alike.
