The Yaro Chiefs have officially secured their spot in the 2026 McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s after a nail-biting 22-19 victory against Yalovata in the quarter-finals held on Saturday. From the outset, both teams engaged in a fierce contest, demonstrating skill and determination until the final whistle.

Coach Paula Karatu expressed his pride in the players, highlighting their hard work and dedication throughout the year as essential factors in their success. “The boys deserve this win; they have been working hard throughout the year to get this well-deserved win,” he stated. He acknowledged the strong competition awaiting the team in the upcoming tournament but emphasized their eagerness to rise to the challenge.

Individual players such as Tomasi Tawake, Isaia Rugu, and Esala Nalobo from the Malolo side received special mention for their impressive performances during the match.
