The popular HBO series, The White Lotus, has chosen the picturesque Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez, France, as its filming location for the highly anticipated fourth season. This stunning 19th-century chateau will serve as a luxurious hotel in the series, attracting an array of guests who are destined to encounter some sinister happenings.

Nestled just inland from the glamorous French Riviera, the Château de la Messardière boasts breathtaking views of the sea. Open seasonally from late April to mid-October, this exquisite location features rooms that start at approximately $1,300 per night during its opening weekend, catering to an upscale clientele.

HBO has yet to comment on this development; however, it was confirmed last November that filming for season four will take place in France, marking a return to Europe after season two was filmed in Italy. While details about the new season remain under wraps, the show has already cast its first two actors, Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka. Creator Mike White, who is also set to appear in the upcoming 50th season of CBS’s Survivor, is currently engaged in the writing process for the new season.

According to the chateau’s official website, it was originally constructed by wealthy cognac merchant Gabriel Dupuy d’Angeac in the 19th century and was later gifted to his daughter, Louise, and her husband for their wedding. Following her husband’s death, Louise transformed the property into a hotel, attracting affluent Parisians during the 1920s. After experiencing a period of decline, the chateau underwent restoration in 1989 and is now part of the luxurious Airelles hotel group.

Production for season four is expected to kick off in the spring, with White serving as an executive producer alongside David Bernad and Mark Kamine. This upcoming installment promises to continue the show’s tradition of combining opulent settings with dark humor and intrigue.

Fans of The White Lotus can eagerly anticipate the fascinating blend of luxury and suspense that the new season is sure to deliver, as it explores the complexities of its characters against the enchanting backdrop of Southern France.
